GLASS BOTTLES AND JARS COLLECTION RESUMED

Monday, December 13, 2021 Effective immediately, the collection of glass bottles and jars from some multi-family buildings participating in the Recycle BC program has resumed.

With transportation challenges in some areas starting to ease and the primary end market for glass no longer under evacuation order, Recycle BC are able to resume glass collection in some regions this week.

In some parts of Metro Vancouver, including the City of Vancouver, collection crews were able to collect from some multi-family properties during the week of December 6 to clear some of the backlog for safety reasons. This was not communicated to properties/residents as Recycle BC needed to ensure that recycling carts were not overfilled with materials – and that crews could get carts emptied for the resumption of regular glass collection starting December 13.

Please be advised not overfill the carts, and that glass should not be placed on the ground or in the carts for paper or containers. If carts are full, please hold on to your glass bottles and jars until cart space is available.

Additional information can be found at: https://recyclebc.ca/collection- suspension-update/ If you have any further questions or concerns regarding this, please contact Recycle BC at 778-588-9504 or info@recyclebc.ca.

We thank you for your attention to this matter.
