EV Charging

Dear Owners/Residents,

It has come to our attention that some Residents are using parkade plugs for EV charging without notifying the Strata Corporation. Please be reminded that you have to notify the Strata in order to charge your electric vehicle as per the following Bylaws & Rules:

BYLAWS: Division 13 – Vehicles & Parking 36. (14) No owner, tenant, occupant, or resident shall use any of the electrical outlets RULES: located in the parkade for recharging electric vehicles without first:

  1. Registering with the Caretaker;

  2. Paying a flat fee for electricity usage;

  3. Ensuring that any extension cord used is approved by the Caretaker and is properly secured so it does not create a tripping or safety hazard to adjacent parking stalls.

3) Usage of common property electrical outlets for recharging electric vehicles

  1. a) Common property electrical outlets located in the parkade may be utilized by owners and tenants for recharging electric vehicles by paying a flat fee for electricity usage of $20 per month for cars or small trucks; $5 per month for motorcycles and scooters; $3 per month for bicycles.

  2. b) Owners or tenants must register in advance with the caretaker and install and use extension cords in a manner approved by the caretaker to access existing electrical outlets.

Residents who wish to sign up for EV charging must email the Strata Agent prior to using the outlets. Residents found using the EV charging without prior approval will be subject to fines.
