Robert Poystila, President
My wife Sarah, our daughter Grace and I have lived at Creekside for 6 years. Our son Matthew was born after we moved here and this has been his home since day 1. We love our community and have made many friends over the years that make Creekside such a vibrant, safe, secure, and welcoming home. As a member of council and President for the last 3 years, I continue to strive to make sure that Creekside is an inclusive community for all to enjoy.
I believe in a transparent council that can balance the needs of the community with individual owners’ interests as well as ensure that there is open communication for all. With over 25 years in the building industry for construction and building sciences, I have a particular interest in ensuring our building is maintained and secured and that any issues are corrected accurately and promptly with the best value for the owners.
The False Creek area is going to see rapid changes to our infrastructure and population in the next few years. It is important that we meet these challenges head on and ensure that our home and community remain a valuable part of our neighbourhood.
I hope to continue to have your confidence to be a part of that future.
Jordan Cooper, Vice President
My wife Breanne and I have lived at Creekside since 2016. I work full-time as a Senior Program Manager at TELUS where I have been for 16 years with a focus on programmatic improvements to customer outcomes and profitability. I grew up in South Surrey and graduated from SFU with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
Outside of work you can find my wife and I snowboarding in the winters and exploring the beautiful BC coastline in the summers. I’ve served on the Creekside strata for 2 terms. I enjoy our community here at Creekside and ensuring we as council are active when it comes to maintaining our building in a cost-effective manner. I look forward to continuing to serve the Creekside community for another year.
David Hemerka
My partner Bonnie andI have lived at Creekside since 2010. I work full-time in IT Project management, primarily in BC Health Care for over 20 years.
I grew up in North Vancouver and graduated from Capilano University.
I am currently working on several multi-year, multimillion dollar data centre upgrade and migration projects at the provincial data centre in Kamloops. A key driver is to minimize service disruptions to our patient care related partners at all the Health Authorites across the province. Proper planning, risk managment, stakeholder engagement, budget tracking and attention to detail are essential. Getting the most value for our healthcare dollars is always a driving factor in the decision making process.
My partner Bonnie, a Professor of Engneering at SFU, and I enjoy the diverse neighbourhood at Creekside.
I hope to continue to bring my work experience to council for the coming term.
